Getting Out

Life with three kids is crazy. I don't have to tell you that. I'm usually totally worn out by the end of the day and I usually pass out about 35 minutes after they go to bed. I lead an exciting life I tell you. But I wouldn't change it for anything.

I'm a mommy who has to get out of the house, every day. Or at least I used to be. And by getting out of the house I mean getting out and doing some activity with the boys playgroup, library, playing at the mall, etc. Rain, snow, sleet, wind usually don't stop me. About the only thing that does is freezing cold temps and blizzards. And lucky for me this winter, we've had both, more then once. Getting out of the house saves my sanity. I'll go crazy if I'm stuck here....just ask Trevor. But with 3 kids getting out of the house and doing something can be a lot of work. Especially when it requires coats, hats, gloves, snow boots, blankets, etc. Is it summer yet?

So our days of getting out and doing something fun and grand are different. I tend to run my errands with just two kids while Carson is in school. Some days the only time we leave the house is to get get Carson at school. Two days a week we go play with our friends. It's amazing what getting out of the house does for my mind, soul, spirit, patience and mental well being. Even just getting Carson from school helps.

The other day Carson didn't have school. And we had nothing planned, no real errands that needed to be run, the library was closed, no playgroup. What should we do? How about we go to the grocery store that has little kid carts? Anyone game? Anyone?

Careful Carson, don't look too thrilled. (He was but taking pictures is not something an almost 5 year old likes to do).

We had three carts and got some oranges and 3 gallons of milk. It was an adventure I'm sure they'll remember forever!

And what's a post without Mr. Bennett?
Smiling.

Even with a crappy cell phone picture he's still cute!

A Death...of a camera.

My camera has died. Well, it's more like in camera purgatory, walking a slow painful death to camera heaven. It will cost more to fix it then its even worth, more then we even paid for it. And it all happened without warning, no dropping it or getting it wet. It just quit working on Saturday. How depressing! Does it not realize I have 3 kids who love to have their pictures taken?

Ok maybe one that loves it. Look, he even smiles at me.

The other two could do without the camera I suppose.

But this guy likes it. Or at least he's small enough to not argue with me.

And on days when he feels the need to catnap (ahem, yesterday) he just coos and giggles and lays still while I shoot pictures of him. At least he does for now!

Baptism

It was Baptism Weekend in our house.

And what better way to start the day then with a jacuzzi! Mr. Bennett is getting a little big for his baby jacuzzi but his inability to sit up is hindering the move to the big tub. But he loves bath time.

We are lucky enough to have Trevor's baptismal outfit. And all 3 boys have been baptized in it.

See? I think its safe to say that Bennett filled it out the most. But he was also the oldest when he was baptized. Carson was about 6 weeks, Declan was 2 months and Bennett is 3.5 months. For some reason I never laid Carson out and took a picture. Kicking myself for that now!

Baptizing Bennett.

May God Bless you always Bennett.

Painting Snow

I read in a magazine not to long ago some ideas for fun winter activities. One of them was filling a spray bottle with water and dying the water with food coloring. So I picked up some spray bottles and we tried it out on Sunday.

The boys thought it was pretty neat.

So they sprayed

and sprayed the snow until the bottles were empty.

And thanks to weather that was above freezing Mr. Bennett even came out. Today's high is 39! That's almost 80 degrees warmer then it was last Friday.

Growing, laughing, smiling and naked!

Mr. Bennett is 3 months old and he's starting to come to life. He's leaving the newborn stage behind for a stage that contains smiles, giggles and some personality. It's sad to see the newborn stage go. I feel like we were just walking through the corridors of the hospital to check in for his delivery and now, here we are, 3 months later. We've entered a fun stage and I'm sure I'll be sad to see this one go too but for now I'm going to enjoy it and cherish it because they all grow up to fast!

He's even big enough for the Johnny Jump Up!

And we caught some giggles on tape.

Stuck in the house

Except for school on Mon and Wed the boys and I have left the house once, on Tuesday. We've been in this house since Wednesday at 11am. And in case your wondering that is a REALLY long time to be in the house, with 3 little boys. Three boys who were bouncing off the walls yesterday and here we are 24 hours later...STILL IN THE HOUSE!

Well I did sneak out for dinner with some girlfriends last night (for my sanity!). It was cold as can be but I NEEDED out...no 30 below windchill was going to stop me. I probably shouldn't mention that I was wearing heels and had no cell phone. Ha!

It was 18 below ACTUAL temperature this morning. School has been closed for 2 days now, and its only January 8th. I don't do well when I'm stuck inside. Just ask Trevor or the kids. I start to go crazy!! Even Emily got a time out in her kennel this morning after she chewed a bottle. Seriously dog?

But the sun is shining, though apparently not warming us up much, and it looks like we've hit a lovely, balmy 8 below. And when these boys wake up we are out of here. Cold weather here we come....mamma needs out! Hopefully this happens before 4 so we can hit Happy Hour at Sonic!

but before I escape into the Frozen Tundra here are some pictures from Sunday when it was only 0 and we went sledding.

Bennett slept in the car.

And then I tried to get a cute picture in his monster hat.

Snowmobiling

The boys got a new helmet for Christmas. I think Declan had more fun wearing it in the house.
Without pants on!

It was cold.

Too cold for my blood. But not the boys who had lots of fun.
Carson told me after school today that he had a dream last night about snowmobiles at our house. Trevor's probably planting that seed in his brain. Keep dreaming! ;-)

I did sneak out for a video.

3 Months

This little cutie turned 3 months last week. (Really? 3 months already! Make time stop!) And I when I stepped on the scale with him he came in at a whopping 19.1 pounds.

Yeah that's big.
(I have a sore back and arms to prove it)

Carson was just over 19 pounds at 4 months. Mr. Bennett is .9 pounds away from being too big for his car seat. Which I am not ready to give up. But we are enjoying his squishiness, giggles, and smiles. He's such a laid back baby!

And his biggest brother thinks he's pretty cool too.
(So does Declan but he wasn't up for a picture)

Bowling

Last week Grandma and Papa Cameron took us bowling. It was the boys' first time "weal bowlin" instead of just playing it on the Wii. It appears that we have a natural bowler in the family.

And it's not me.
(Unless I'm on the Wii then I can kick some serious butt)

It's Carson!

This little stinker beat his momma....by 1 point. Scoring a nice 112. He even managed to get 2 strikes. You'd think that by using bumpers 3 adults could kick some bowling butt. We didn't but we all had fun.

Including Declan who was just excited to see it roll off the ramp. He could have cared less how many pins got knocked down. Just the site of the ball rolling down the lane was enough to send him into a jumping joyous celebration.

Waiting his turn.
And that hair do definitely helps his form. (You can see it better in the video)

Baby Bennett and grandma cheered from the sidelines in his Santa hat happily filling his pants...twice. Why does that always happen at an establishment with NO child changing station?

Enjoy!

Smile nice...

Trying to pose 3 boys for a nice simple picture, in their new sweatshirts, is a task for the birds!
