A Christmas to Remember

This was definitely a Christmas to remember. Not only did we get to spend Christmas with just the five of us but we also experienced a massive blizzard. A blizzard that left us with nearly 2 feet of snow, stranded us at home for a few days, delayed our trip to grandma's, lots of shoveling, sledding and enjoying time as a family.

It's been many years since Trevor or I have seen snow like this (you should have seen the snow plow pile). And since we live in the Frozen Tundra, that's saying something. But its gorgeous outside and the boys have had fun playing in it, sledding, throwing snowballs and dragging Emily through it.

Getting ready to throw snow at mommy.

Burying daddy in the snow.

Making chairs out of the snow.

I see you Declan.

And Emily is pleased since she scored the Worlds Largest Dog Bone in the after Christmas sale today.

Me or the boys?

My parents have been going through old pictures lately. And in going through them I've noticed they remind me of 3 little boys I know.

Christmas Program

Carson had his Preschool Christmas Program today. He's been pretty excited about it for the last few weeks. He wouldn't share any of the songs with me but every now and then I heard him practicing away. And I was informed that he was going to be a Shepard and that baby Jesus was going to be a doll. (Darn, I have a nice plump baby that would have been perfect!)

Anxiously waiting for Big Brother's program to start, or finish so he could have a treat, not sure which.

Playing the bells.

Singing a song about Snowmen.

Getting ready for his part as the Shepard.

Which I hear is very exhausting.

Darn...this video is sideways and I can't figure out how to turn it. So enjoy it sideways, it's pretty cute.

Sleep Baby Sleep

This little chunky monkey has slept at least 8 hours straight for the past 6 nights, last night it was 10. He's a rock star...a very cute rock star who insists on being in bed by 8 every night. I probably shouldn't be talking about this because I will jinx it but I'm so excited to be getting some sleep I couldn't help it. Plus I wanted to put this picture up and needed something to talk about with it. So here's hoping this wonderful sleep pattern continues! Go Bennett!

O Christmas Tree

For the second year in a row we headed out to a tree farm south of town to pick out and cut down our Christmas tree. The weather seemed to mimic last year's FREEZING COLD weather. However, this year we were lucky enough to not have the wind so it ended up being a nice afternoon. We perused the many trees looking for the perfect one. The boys decided on this one....
It looked perfect! But then Trevor started cutting it down....

As you can see he had some help. And then he soon realized the thing had a HUGE stump but it was too late...so he forged through...and now has one sore forearm! (Next year we will check on that before picking...lesson learned) (I don't even want to describe the process that went on once we got home and tried to get it in our tree stand.)

The grunting and funny noise you hear in the background would be Mr. Bennett snoring away in the sling.

Don't we look like something out of National Lampoons Christmas Vacation?

Santa was also at the tree farm. And this time I was able to convince Declan to get up there.

In an attempt to even out the ornament the boys got help from daddy.

However, I still think a majority of the ornaments are running along the bottom. In years past my OCD has gotten the better of me and I've had to rearrange. This year, however, I've let that go. The boys had a blast decorating. Now we just have to pray it doesn't tip.

I kept thinking today as we were decorating the tree, Christmas was so cool as a kid but watching it and experiencing it with our kids is totally awesome. It really doesn't get any better! Carson is 100% into the Santa thing this year. He's got his letter sitting on the stairs awaiting a stamp so that it can get to the North Pole. I love it!

2 Months

This little guy turned 2 months this week. I can't even begin to explain where the last 2 months have gone. We're busy. Some of that busyness is from being gone 3 of the last 4 weekends. But alot of it is just having 3 kids, 3 boys, 3 very busy boys. The days are never dull that's for sure. As Bennett moves out of his newborn stage I'm sad to see it go but I'm also looking forward to the next stage. A stage that has started with lots of smiles, coos and an 8.5 hour stretch of sleep last night. Look at that belly? It's so cute! And so is that smile.

And this one...

He had his 2 month checkup today. And he's still my biggest baby. He weighed in at a whopping 16lbs 4 oz (95th percentile). He's 24 and 3/4 inches (75th percentile) and has a head circumference of 17cm (95th percentile). And how do the boys compare?

Carson was 14lbs 9 ounces and 24 inches long. Declan was 13lbs 5oz and 22.5inches long. Quite the difference between the 3.

Whose watching who?

Keeping an eye on his brothers or his brothers keeping an eye on him. Not sure which.

One busy long weekend.

It was a busy Thanksgiving weekend for us. All the grandparents, family, friends, snow, parades, football, shopping, Santa, movies and of course lots of food...good food!

Bennett spent Thanksgiving day being a ham, checking out Great-Grandma Blomer, hanging out with his brothers and of course looking cute!

The big boys spent the day playing in the snow, playing with their (3rd) cousins, and riding four-wheeler. That's Trevor with all 5 little kids on the 4-wheeler. They were having a blast!

Carson also sat on Santa's lap. Declan would have nothing to do with the jolly old fella!

And he even told him what he wanted for Christmas. Hopefully that thought stays the same and he should be one happy little boy come Christmas morning.

The boys also made cookies with Mrs. Claus.

Took some pictures in a sleigh.

Made some snowman crafts.

Had hot chocolate.

And rode on a horse drawn sleigh.

And the end result...
One little boy who skipped nap one too many days and passed out during story time.

I'm thankful for....

1. My husband who gets up and goes to work everyday so that I can stay home. I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful man in my life. He is an amazing husband, father and friend. He is patient, loving, kind, fun and the best wrestler 2 little boys could ask for!

2. Three healthy, beautiful, energetic, lovable and amazing boys. They are the light of our world and we are most thankful for them.

3. Our house, especially my new bedroom and closet. She made need some work but we are so blessed to own a house.

4. Our parents to whom we owe many thanks. A lot of things would not be possible without their generosity, love and kindness. Not to mention they are the 4 best grandparents we could ask for.

5. My friends. I've been blessed with some of the most amazing friends in my life. We have shared laughter, tears, new babies, new marriages, new jobs, re-locations and many memories. They provide me with some much needed sanity and support throughout the week.

6. My new mini-van that fits all my kids. I'm thankful for it since I just dropped $525 into it.

7. DVR. Oh I'm ever so thankful for you!! Where would I be without it....don't answer that.

May you find many things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. And may you enjoy the good company of friends and family. And may you Gobble till you Wobble. God Bless you always!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Rub-A-Dub-Dub

Rub-A-Dub-Dub

Baby Bennett's in the tub.

And guess who he looks like?

Carson! Minus a little different cheeks and, as my mom pointed out today, no dimples (on Bennett). But man do they have the same eyes and nose. Well that and the fact that they were both big!
