Summer Fun

I need to scan a copy of my baby pictures. (Hint Hint Dad!)Man, does this kid look exactly like me.

Yes, my brother smokes a little! He's weird!

Get off me!
This is what happens when I am trying to take a picture of their shirts. It's impossible to get them BOTH to sit still.

My MOMS club visited the Performance Arabian Horse Stables yesterday. Carson wasn't to sure of the horses and they had plenty. He wouldn't feed them his carrot either. He just enjoyed teasing them with it.

Still got the carrot.

This was about as close as he would get.

Declan enjoyed the view from the front seat of his baby ride!

Introducing.....

My new monkey boy.

Check out Declan's new muscle swim shirt! Isn't it cute. Works pretty good too.

We tried to go swimming yesterday but the pool closed 20 minutes after we got there. Nothing like spending more time getting the kids ready then you actually get to spend swimming. Oh well we can home and played with the chalk.

And Declan ate his.....is that a good thing?

A post of videos

Whoops, I don't think he meant to take out that kid.

A trip to the zoo and some fishing.

Playing on the floor with crazy morning hair.

Carson trying to stop Declan from going anywhere. That seems to be a common activity in our house lately. Carson likes to block Declan or stand in front of him.....and so it begins.

Last week the boys and I were able to go visit our good friends, the Dunnigans, we ventured off to the zoo and the kids had a blast. Here is a picture of Carson and Erynn.

Brittany helping Carson feed the animals.

Trevor took Carson out fishing yesterday morning. He looks like a pro already.

He even knows how to cast....well sort of.

We didn't have any bait so we tried a leftover cheeseburger. Seems the fish weren't to eager to eat a hamburger on a Sunday morning. I can't imagine why not! ;-)

Declan was in charge of beverages.

Teapot Days!

It was Teapot Days this weekend. The weather was HOT and humid so we had a blast checking out some of the events.

Happy Father's Day Trevor, Grandpa Mike and Grandpa Jeff!

Carson and Daddy on the Carousel.

Mommy and Declan decided to ride on the bench. It didn't ease the motion sickness like I thought it would!

Getting ready for the parade. Which I think may have been the hottest parade we have ever been to.

Here it comes!

Say Cheese!

Mommy and Declan trying to stay cool

Declan's hair quickly turned into a wet mop.

No better way to cool off then a dip in the pool!

Hanging out poolside.

Carson being his goofy self.

Declan loved the water.

Staying Cool.

Daddy and his boys.

Declan and Daddy hanging out at the pool.

Time to go home.

And before we go a few videos for your enjoyment.

Carson gets Declan to hold the stool for him.

Carson at the Carnival. (It's a little long, about 4 minutes)

Carson and mom go for a ride down the slide. Watch out (listen for it) for that big bump at the end. It hurt!

Speech

Carson started speech therapy 3 weeks ago. So far he has done great. Each week it seems she is able to get him to say at least 5 new words. I usually try and practice those words with him between Molly's visits. Today when Molly arrived she had a large tube with her and a ball. She was trying to play catch with Carson by throwing the ball threw the long tube. At one point she was trying to get him to say, "I want the ball." Carson got a little confused by the word want. Here's how the conversation went....

Molly: Carson, do you want the ball?

Carson: Ball!

Molly: Say, "I want the ball."

Carson: Blank stare

Molly: Say "I"

Carson: I!

Molly: Say, "Want"

Carson: two...three....

He confused want for one. It was pretty funny. They had the same conversation a few times. I even tried to get him to say it tonight and he couldn't get past the want. Guess we know what our homework is this week.

Enjoying Summer

His first attempt at Corn on the Cob!

Carson trying to get Declan to sit up for the picture.

We went to the zoo the other day and the train was finally running. So we got our tokens and waited in line for the driver. Carson sat there the whole time (about 10 minutes) staring at the train.
Finally time for the train ride!

The zoo has an albino alligator for the summer. It's a little freaky looking if you ask me.

We have been enjoyng some hot weather the past few days. So last night we headed to the park for a picnic and a dip in the kiddie pool. The water was a little chilly but it was still fun. Declan wasn't to sure about getting wet.

Hanging out at the pool.

Talking

Declan will be 8 months this weekend. Where has the time gone? I thought Carson grew up fast but Declan is at lightening speed compared to his brother. Carson went from eating everything in sight to barely eating this week. The growth spurt must be over. Darn! I like those mega eating sessions. Well I'm sure another one will be here before I know it. Carson has also been adding to his vocabulary everyday. Some of his new words include.... Mom (finally!), on, off, in, bunny, puppy and thank you. He also knows the letter B. We live in Apt. B and the other day he ran over to the door and shouted B!

Declan still isn't sure about eating anything else but baby food. He eats plenty of it though. We have tried bread and he does ok with it. Most times he gets it about 75% chewed before he spits it out. Tasty! No teeth yet but it looks like there are two that are pretty close.

I finally got Declan to talk on the video. You have no idea how long I've been trying to capture that. If you listen closely you can hear Carson in the background copying his sounds. Does this mean they will have there own language? Like "Twin Speak" or whatever they call it between twins. Brother help if that's the case!

Hanging out in the car toy box.

Enjoying breakfast.

Being silly while refusing to eat! Good thing he's so cute.
