Things that start with the letter H

HOCKEY! Friday we scored tickets to the hockey game, front row! Plus we had about 6 seats to ourselves so the boys did pretty well at staying entertained. We made it through the whole game, OT and a shootout (we lost) so they must have had fun!

Hanging out at the hockey game.
Say Cheese Declan!

You'd think we were at a Gopher hockey game the way we were dressed.

HALLOWEEN! Saturday we hit Zoo Boo for some trick or treating. Carson didn't want much to do with putting on his costume. Somehow we got it on and once we got to the zoo and he realized what trick or treating involved he was VERY excited.

Waiting in line to collect our loot.

Daddy and his skeletons.

Declan pointed out EVERY pumpkin he could see.

Mr. Skeleton

In front of the fire truck.

HANGING out with Daddy while mommy works.

Uh-Oh (Declan's favorite word now)

You can even watch the video.....

And some picture outakes....THANK GOD for digital. I try to take good pictures but 99% of what I come out with is something like these......

American Idol here we come.

I think we may have a chance at being the next Sonny and Cher.

I let Carson color his pumpkin yesterday. Here he is with the finished product. Clearly he will be the next Picasso.

ACK! They're both looking at the camera and they are both smiling. This one's a keeper!

Since I can't save every piece of artwork the kids bring home I decided to take pictures of them in order to "keep" them all.

Here are a few of Carson's most recent pieces from school.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

We love you!
Carson and Declan

Go Bison!!

This past weekend we painted our car (something I would suggest not doing since that paint sticks like glue...lesson learned), put on fake tattoos and adorned ourselves in as much NDSU paraphernalia as we could. What for you ask? To watch our NDSU Bison run all over the MN Gophers. The boys had a blast and so did Trevor and I since we were able to hang out with a bunch of old college friends. Downtown Minneapolis was packed with Bison fans Saturday night celebrating our team's victory and rubbing it in the faces of all those Gopher fans.

So, I'm doing this post in green in celebration of their victory!

The boys were up early in the hotel ("we're too excited") but as a result were able to get some good snuggle time with daddy.

A pre-game breakfast of yogurt and shredded wheat. Breakfast of champions!

My little Bison fan.

Our plan was to paint our hair green but Carson flipped out when we put the tattoo on so we just stuck with our Bison hat.
"Go Bize"

Declan's hair is getting long and so it makes for some fun crazy hairdos after bath.

I temporarily lost my mind today when I let Carson go to bed with Good Luck Bear. I didn't think it would last but sure enough he passed out with him.

It's Hockey Season People!!!

Hockey returned to our house last night and we couldn't have been more happy. In fact, the boys were just as interested in it as we were! Don't worry, they know they can only watch....no playing that expensive-practice-at-all-hours-of-the-day-expensive-loose your-teeth-did I say expensive-sport!

The Wild won in case anyone really cares.

Oh and here are a few of the birthday boy from yesterday!

He clearly has NO interest in sweets. Weird kid. I wonder if he was switched at birth? Nope, he's a dead giveaway for me.

One Crazy Year

It's been One Crazy Year in our family. One year ago today we welcomed our second little boy, Declan Michael made his entrance at 1:54pm weighing 7lbs 7oz and 20 inches long. He was perfect!

Declan has brought so much joy to our family. He has a smile that lights up the entire room and then some. He's got red hair like his mama and gorgeous hazel eyes. Along with his Irish name and red hair comes a little temper, stubbornness and alot of determination. All characteristics that make Declan such an incredible little boy (and very much like his mama!). Before he was born I was so scared of how our life would be with 2 kids. My time with just Carson was gone and I was now the mother of 2. I couldn't have asked for anything better and I certainly can't imagine my life without him. It's been a challenging year and Declan has taught me so many valuable lessons that I wouldn't change for the world. Most of all patience! ;-)

6 days after Declan was born Trevor moved to a new state, 2 weeks later the boys and I followed. We are so happy we moved to SD. Trevor loves his new job and we have met so many new people and friends. But most of all we are so blessed to have 2 sweet, healthy little boys.

Happy 1st Birthday my sweet Declan! We love you so much and we are so lucky to have you in our lives.

Now for some pictures.....

We had Declan's Birthday party on Sunday at my parents. Both sets of grandparents were there as well as our dear friends Leanne (Declan's Godmother), Brittany and Meghan Dunnigan.

You didn't actually think he would wear it did you?

Bring on the cake.

He didn't eat much of it. I think he played more then he ate.

Not too impressed.

Big Brother enjoyed a piece AND wore his hat.

Time for the post birthday cake bath.

And some presents.

Oh it's so funny opening gifts.

He's officially a walker! And its done with both hands in the air for balance.

The Birthday Boy!

And last but not least we made a video of Declan's first year. It's a little long but we hope you enjoy it.

A Visit to the Pumpkin Patch

Carson's preschool class went to the Pumpkin Patch this morning. It was cold and windy but the boys had a blast.

We learned that if you make the boys hold hands they will actually do (go) where they are supposed to. Brilliant idea!

We attempted a picture with all 6 boys but as you can see no one was too interested.

Riding the tractor to go get pumpkins.

My little pumpkin!

It was cold.

The perfect pumpkin.

Declan wanted a pumpkin too. Bbbbaaahhhhh (in his typical Godfather voice)

Did I mention it was cold?

Really cold. Cold enough for silly faces.

Showing off their pumpkins.

Carson's class. 8 boys and 2 girls. Yowza!
